TERRITORIAL LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
UnCo was founded on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. More specifically, this land is covered by the Toronto Purchase Treaty [Treaty 13] signed in August of 1805 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. It is important to recognize the layers & circumstances that lead to this signing, and that this land is still home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
